There are some really gorgeous pix of the couple at the photographer’s blog http://stacyrichardsonphotography.com/blog/

Rachel got married to Gavin last Saturday. They looked so happy and in love.

Will used to be in a relationship with Rachel years ago, long before I met him and pretty much right after his marriage ended.  While Rachel and Will are both incredible people, they met at a time in their lives that didn’t allow for things to progress together.  Anyway, in recent years Will and Rachel have been in touch again and we were very blessed to be included in her special day with Gavin.

The gathering was intimate and lovely.  Rachel was *devastating* as a bride.  Gavin looked dashing and happy.  I cried during the ceremony. I was only slightly distracted by the folding chair - a very nice, white, folding ceremony chair - but I’m a big girl and I always worry I’ll break one of those things.  Anyway, I sat very carefully with my ample rump tucked back into the chair where it’s center of gravity was and paid close attention to anything that felt like it might give because I did NOT want to interrupt for any reason, let alone that one!

I learned what a Ketubah is and OH, and Gavin crushed that glass but good!  Mazal Tov!

Rachel & the back of Gavin.

The ceremony had some fun music at the beginning and even had one of my favorite Juno soundtrack songs as Gavin walked down the aisle! I was grinning and tears were rolling the whole time!

The stylish 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church served as both the ceremony and reception location.  I fully

expected Rachel to choose such a stylish place since she has very good taste.  And speaking of good taste, the sit- down dinner was EXCELLENT - I am still dreaming of creamy mushroom soup (one of the several courses)!  Cursed Safeway is out of dried porcini for days now!!!  I can’t make creamy mushroom soup without porcini mushrooms!

Rachel & Gavin's first dance as husband and wife!

I got choked up throughout the evening, feeling really just so honored that Robert, Will and I were included in their celebration.  We took lovely little boxes of chocolates home and they were all eaten up by the next day!

Rachel and Gavin promised photos from Scotland when then get back!
