The Heat and The Shove

Posted By admin on April 28, 2007

I waved to you

and blew both of you kisses

and in my head I imagined smiles

simple chatter

maybe a laugh

maybe a joke

I worked hard at what I was doing

okay, maybe not so hard

but it was important to do

And I thought of you

looking at books

whispering and smiling

maybe stopping for a snack

and discussing Harry Potter

or Sonic

or goofing off, maybe

And then when you called

it was like a slap

or a shove

and I didn't really know

what to make of that

I exisit when you say I do

and your back turned towards me

while I breathe out the heat

of futile words that fall on to deaf ears

while you conquer little electronic worlds
