GRRRRRR!!!

admin | September 30, 2006

Damn HARD DRIVES!!!
I swear in the last year (or just barely over) we have spent over $700 in hard drives and about two months out of their measley little 12 month warranties they FAIL!!!
So…right now my 40 gigs of MP3's are now in a lifeless drive. I am D I S G U S T [...]

Vigil Tonight

admin | September 30, 2006

This is a copy and paste from the Delusional Duck's website.
A candlelight vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2006 for Stand up Together Overcoming hatred Peace in Charles County, or STOP, at the Charles County Courthouse on Charles Street, La Plata, sponsored by the local [...]

bloggy bloggy i will miss you

admin | September 29, 2006

I won't be able to blog this weekend - fyi - some database changed are a-happenin'.
I'm realizing I've grown rather blog-adicted.

ilovewaldorf or icensorwaldorf - you decide.

admin | September 29, 2006

I saw a sign on running errands one morning for ilovewaldorf.com.
I've been all worked up lately about trying to do my tiny little part to make a better community and I was hopeful when I saw the sign.
I went home and typed it in and submitted a photo (which did show up in the gallery). [...]

ATTENTION ARTISTS and ART LOVERS!!!

admin | September 28, 2006

The Charles County Arts Alliance is having an art summit.
You may have heard me complain in the past that the CCAA agreed to put 13 pieces of my artwork on display - but "no nudes."
That didn't work for me, so I never did that. I only kicked up a slight fuss about it, but decided [...]

More School Board Stuff You Need To Know

admin | September 27, 2006

I was cc'd in on a letter to The Delusional Duck by Ms. Abell.
By the way, if you are a Charles County citizen with any interest in what is going on in your county you really need to read the Duck's website.
Here is the important part of her letter:
"I do believe the voting public [...]

Oh Sunny Monday

admin | September 25, 2006

What a BEAUtiful day today.
Sunny…breezy…the evening will be mild and the windows will be wide open.
These are perfect camping days.
Perfect camping nights.
Endless stars.
Pressed, close.
The smell of smoke in our hair…on our skin.
The sound of insects and life all around.

Dark night of the soul…

admin | September 18, 2006

I keep having these mini panics when I think about rabies.
I know that the Charles County Health Department SAYS that the Tri-County Animal Shelter SAID that the animal lived and was healthy during the ten day period. But who determined that?
They wouldn't let me look at the animal.
They wouldn't give me details.
I don't know [...]

And now she's nobody's wife…

admin | September 17, 2006

I just felt like writing something, but have no plan, so here goes.
I love morning sex.
I like the way ice cream tastes when it?s a little melted.
Cds that have been scratched or are otherwise useless look so cool that I hate throwing them away.
I like cuddling with my daughters, even though they aren?t babies anymore.
I [...]

A Good Cause

admin | September 14, 2006

Help my friend Richard raise $2000 towards Cure Autism.
Some of you may know that my step-son Mike was diagnosed with a form of autism years ago.
Mike is now 17 and currently in Basic Training in Illinois for the Navy. He not only is doing well, he is doing very well and I think he [...]

Happy Anniversary Honey - I love you.

admin | September 12, 2006

Fourteen Years
Today is my fourteenth wedding anniversary.
That's a long time to be married to somebody.
Robert and I have actually been living together closer to seventeen years.
Kisses, lovemaking, lies, hugs, babies, fights, diapers, long walks, broken promises, swimming in the ocean, sharing dreams and fears.
Being vulnerable in front of each other - and very [...]

Chuck Countians, get off you ass and VOTE!

admin | September 12, 2006

You have until 8pm to get your vote in for the primary election!

If you are registered Republican or Democrat you can cast your vote for your party candidate choice.
If you are unaffiliated like me you can only vote in the Board of Education Race.
If you don't know your registration status or what polling place you [...]

9/11

admin | September 11, 2006

Why isn't today a national memorial day?
I watched a documentary about 9/11 on CBS tonight.
As I watched and listened at all of the horror and sadness I kept thinking, “This is victory to somebody. Somebody is overjoyed at this suffering.”
Fundamentalist religions are dangerous - no matter which God they are worshiping.

My Evolution and You and You, my loves.

admin | September 8, 2006

I don?t know what this feeling in the air is.
The chaos around me perhaps has awakened my senses.
No rest over the summer left me open for this.
Keeping my hands and mind too busy with things and duties.
And this energy, I cannot explain it.
It comes in its time, and leaves me with this sad empty feeling [...]

Honeysuckle

admin | September 8, 2006

Tender floating down
Round, round, round
Sounds gently
gently
caressing my heart, my soul
Constellations
and the smell of honeysuckle
The feel of grass on the back of my naked arms
And my breasts, soft
And the sound of your voice
And the hopes inside of you
flowing into me

Not Good News For Charles County School System

admin | September 6, 2006

Just as I was announcing my intent on voting for Ms. Young for school board, she evidently decided to pull out of the race.
It's a loss for the Charles County School System - if you read the minutes and her site, you will see what she stands for. Maybe she wasn't tireless after all [...]

Charles County School Board - My Candidate Choices

admin | September 5, 2006

I have had a pretty stressful week, but I wanted to get at least one Charles County School Board blog done today.
There is so much more information to go through than I ever would have guessed.
My first official choice for school board is Margaret Young.
I know, I know - she's so controversial, and not [...]

Chaos Theory and Killer Kittens

admin | September 2, 2006

Sometimes, even if we are in a rut or have a very steady routine, the reigning Queen of the World, Chaos, will make her presence known.
Yesterday after school I took my daughter to pick up her purse where she had left it two days before. Then we went to the local music store to [...]

Beautiful People Friday

admin | September 2, 2006

It's time for my beautiful people choices for this Friday.

My celebrity choice this week is Rita Moreno.
Rita Moreno is well known for her many talents and performances, but I remember her best as Anita in West Side Story and in skits in The Electric Company.

You can see a list of many of the things she's [...]
