Math & Proms

Posted By admin on April 25, 2004

It?s been a very busy day today.  First, Jade?s class was in a Math competition.  Unfortunately her team didn?t win anything, but the kids were such good sports-people that they just accepted their defeat knowing that they worked hard.  They got a goodie bag, ribbon and t-shirt out of it, plus the knowledge that they have pretty good math brains.

During the testing portion where parents weren?t allowed to observe Robert and I headed down to the Charles Street Bakery in La Plata ? I will have to do an Allzah Town piece on La Plata soon ? and had coffee and a danish.  The place is tiny and just barely a stone?s throw from the Brewhouse, but it was quaint and cute and the pastries were great.  It?s sort of Tuscan with a dash of country in décor and had some gorgeous cakes sitting out.  Though they have the tiny store front with a few tables inside I think most of their business must be wedding cakes.

After the ceremony was over I had to rush home and clean up for all of the prom kids and parents that were going to be descending upon my house to take photos of their kids, because the limo was meeting at our house. Plus the kids wanted me to take group shots.

Amber came out of her room in her outfit and WOW!  She looked so great and grown.  I started taking photos of her by herself and when Adam arrived I thought we were going to have to give the boy some medical attention.  I wish I could have somehow captured the nuisances of how amazed and taken he was with how beautiful Amber looked.  He made this funny little whimper and I couldn?t get him to go down the hall to change, I thought he was going to swoon.  Amber and Adam make such a GORGEOUS couple!

I hope they?re having a great time.  She has roses in her hair and friends all around her.  They all went in together on a stretch limo.

I took pictures from 2:30 to 5:30 ? it was pretty tiring!

I will post some on the photo site when I get them done http://photos.allzah.com
