It?s been a great birthday weekend. One thing that I?ve filed under ?weird? is the bomb threats called into the DC School system Friday March, 19 ? schools were searched, and I?ve nary heard a peep about the whole thing. Whattup wit dat?
I checked out this Yahoo Group for poyamorous people ? some of them have all kinds of ? um ? interesting set-ups and one thing I thought was kinda interesting is that they seem to call their partners SPICE ? like some kind of plural for Spouse. In some cases it seems like they use it because they can, it comes out like they?re trying a bit too hard or something. Either way I thought it was a fun word to use, but I doubt I?ll be using it.
Anyways, Friday Morning (my 34th birthday) I woke up with my Billy Boy ? so I got to see him to start my day. I came home to a talkative daughter and showed her the beautiful etched mermaid art bead Will gave me, along with some great photo books. I LOVE that mermaid bead, it rocks, I want to get some Amber and Jade beads to use with it and make a necklace.
I made some coffee after chatting with Amber and Robert came out and I hugged and kissed him. Earlier in the week he gave me a scanner ? a nice one for my birthday present ? so I could start selling quality prints I make myself ? rather than having to rely on the print folks who don?t always do as good a job as I would like. I?ve been ebaying these mini art shoes ? check auctions under wchardy ? and they?ve caught on a bit ? some folks have been asking about prints and stuff, so Robert got me the equipment at the right time.
Friday morning my parents, my sister, my good friend Tathy all called to wish me a happy birthday. At around
Jade wasn?t awake yet after I said goodbye to Robert for the day so I hopped into bed and cuddled up to Jade and as soon as she woke up she said, ?Happy birthday mommy!? Kissed me and hugged me and that was a pretty great thing too. That evening Robert and Jade gave me this wonderful ?memories? dvd they?d made with cheesy soft music in the background and a slide show of old family photos from the time I was a kid to a teenager, scanned them in and added newer digital images of the family and extended family ? I was all choked up after watching it! Jackie came by and brought me an adorable stuffed mermaid finger puppet. It?s awesome too! I am obviously going to have to do my room in a mermaid theme.
After all that wonderfulness, Robert and Jade ran out and bought some prepared food from Safeway and carrot cake for me. Then Saturday night Robert, Will and Jade all took me out to dinner at the Mexico Restaurant for a birthday treat too. Later Jess brought me a bottle of wine. I have such great friends and family. I took my camera to the restaurant with me since I was feeling wiley and wanted to try to do some photojournalisim (see my photo site http://photos.allzah.com) in the 'dorf. I caught a photo of some people smooching in the parking lot. Will and I drove around late and went to the seedy cheesy motels on 301, drove around their parking lots and snapped some shots - we also stopped at the IHOP where some teens were hanging out and I got a few potential shots for a series I'm working on of teen girls. One of them had a cell phone that rang and she screeched “KYLE IS CALLING!!!” and she ran outside. I'll try to post some of them before week's end.
I?m 34 ? sometimes I still feel the excitement and enthusiasm of a girl deep in my spirit, though I have the advantage of being wiser. I feel more open and confident than ever in my life. I am wealthy when it comes to love, affection and support ? my heart is full and my eyes are open to the future.
Did you even speak in “pig latin” when you were a kid?
